The study that doesn't depend on the patient.
Most of what goes wrong with an ambulatory study is logistical, not clinical. Leads come loose. A recorder gets taken off for a shower and doesn't go back on. The device is due back before the symptom ever appears.
A single-use patch removes most of those failure points at once: nothing to charge, nothing to reconnect, nothing to hand back. It goes on in the office in a couple of minutes and comes off at the end of the study — with a continuous record of everything in between.
