Virtual Care · CIED Monitoring
The device is already reporting. Someone should be listening.
At Nationwide Cardiovascular, we built our service around cardiac implantable electronic devices. These devices relay information back to the provider — heart rhythm changes, device malfunction, fluid retention in the lungs — and programmable alerts can be sent between regularly scheduled follow-ups.
Between follow-ups
Problems rarely wait for the next appointment.
A scheduled device check confirms what happened since the last one. Remote monitoring closes that gap: alerts surface rhythm changes, device or lead malfunction, and rising thoracic fluid as the device records them, so problems can be detected and treated far earlier than a calendar-driven schedule allows.
That earlier signal is what remote monitoring is for — fewer inappropriate ICD shocks, fewer avoidable ER visits, and continuity of care that holds together between visits.
What we monitor
Implantable devices include:
Whatever your patients are already implanted with, the transmissions land in one place — reviewed, triaged, and returned to you in the workflow you already run.
- Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators (ICDs)
- Shock and therapy history, lead integrity, and rhythm episodes reported as they are recorded.
- Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT)
- Pacing percentage and device performance, so therapy delivery is visible between visits.
- Pacemakers
- Battery status, lead measurements, and mode behaviour, without waiting on the next in-office check.
- Implantable Cardiac Monitors
- Long-term rhythm surveillance for infrequent episodes a wearable study window can miss.
- CHF / Fluid Monitoring
- Thoracic fluid trends that flag congestion early — while it is still a phone call, not an admission.
- Implantable Loop Recorders
- Years of continuous monitoring for unexplained syncope, palpitations, and cryptogenic stroke workups.

Manufacturers covered
All four major device makers, one workflow.
Device clinics rarely run on one brand. We monitor across every major manufacturer, so what was implanted doesn't decide how your clinic works.
- Medtronic
- CareLink transmissions — pacemakers, ICDs, CRT, and the LINQ family of insertable monitors.
- Abbott
- Merlin.net transmissions — pacemakers, ICDs, CRT, and Confirm insertable cardiac monitors.
- Biotronik
- Home Monitoring transmissions — daily automatic reporting across the implanted device range.
- Boston Scientific
- LATITUDE transmissions — pacemakers, ICDs, CRT, and insertable cardiac monitors.
Manufacturer and platform names are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used here only to indicate the implanted devices we monitor.
How it runs
A device clinic that runs itself.
Our team handles enrolment through reporting. Your physicians see what needs a decision — not every transmission the network sends.
- 01
Enrolment
We identify eligible patients from your device clinic list, register them on the manufacturer's remote network, and confirm the home transmitter or app is paired and reporting.
- 02
Scheduled transmissions
Routine remote checks run on the interval you set, in line with the follow-up schedule your practice already uses — no patient trip to the office.
- 03
Alert triage
Programmable alerts — arrhythmia episodes, lead or device malfunction, rising thoracic fluid, battery status — are reviewed as they arrive, not at the next appointment.
- 04
Physician escalation
Anything clinically actionable comes to your physicians with the relevant strips and device data attached. Routine transmissions stay routine.
- 05
Reporting and billing support
Each check is documented in the format your chart expects, with the record needed to support the remote monitoring codes your practice bills.
Built around the device
One service, wearable to implanted.
Implanted device monitoring runs alongside our wearable cardiac studies and RN-led remote patient monitoring — the same team, the same reporting, and no second vendor to manage.
Programmable alerts route to the people who need them. Routine transmissions stay routine. Your clinic sees what it needs to act on, not everything the device ever recorded.
